On Saturday, October 25th, Tenth Street UMC held its annual Trunk or Treat in the church parking lot. this is always a fun time when we hand out candy to the neighborhood children, giving them a safe place to trick or treat. Our church members decorate their cars and hand out candy from the trunks of their cars. Everyone wears costumes and it is always a fun time to reach out to the community. One family with four children, new to Taylor, visited and had a great time. They said they thought that our was a "really fun" church and they asked about our worship times and weekly schedule. they have promised to attend worship this week, and we now have a connection to them for follow-up.
We also celebrated Reformation Sunday on October 26. I presented my dramatic monologue on Martin Luther. We had a moving ,informative, and entertaining service learning about our Protestant heritage.
