Father-Son Barbeque

Church sponsered Father-Son BBQ, attendance 55, fathers, sons, uncles, grandpas,friends, brothers, sons-in-law......Beef barbeque, potato salad, baked beans, roll, ice cream, cookies.  Served by wives,sisters,grandmas,aunts, moms, friends, daughter-in-laws.  Guest Speaker..... Wyatt Thompson, Voice of the Kansas State Wildcats, 2012-2014 Kansas Sportscaster of the Year, Host of the Bill Snyder and Bruce Weber Television & Radio Shows.  Wyat is a favorite son of this community, and we were thrilled to have him here.  BBQ was by donation only, raising $505.00, and after expenses,  the church will donate $155 to the Abilene Food Bank.  Talmage UMC has a long tradition of Father-Son Banquets, just not in recent history.  The memories and stories of those past events were throughly discussed by attendees.  Wonderful fellowship.
