Since July has traditionally super low Sunday morning worship attendance, we decided to focus on bringing people together DURING THE WEEK through missions and revival this month. Our focus is intergenerational bonding. We encourage this through bowling with the Dream Program (sports for athletes of all abilities) on Mondays, cooking and serving food to Seashore Mission Sunday afternoons, and leading Palmer Creek Revival which offers worship services twice a day for 10 days in an off-site, outdoor location. A lot of the yong families who miss church on Sundays this time of year, came to worship a few times during the week at Palmer Creek. At Palmer Creek there are small goup settings for children, youth, and adults too. There are a few Methodist Churches that gather there, plus a few other denominations represented. Cedar Lake's people lined up the speaker (a UMC Pastor from another conference), and ran the cafeteria. I didn't count their attendance as part of our worship and small groups attendance, but it definitely kept a lot of my people young people gathered together and gathered with my older people.
