This past Sunday our congregation did not have our usual service, as the facility we rent was closed for the Thanksgiving weekend. Instead, we chose to serve a disabled woman in the neighborhood. We have been visiting her weekly and discipling her.

We raked her leaves, and then we gathered on her porch as she shared an amazing story of how God had worked in her life recently. This woman and her children had been asleep when the woman suddenly her a voice telling her to wake up. She recognized the voice as that of her mother, who had died two years ago. Upon getting up, she checked her blood sugar (she is a diabetic) was dangerously low. She was able to eat something and get her sugar back to a safe level. Had she not woken up, she may have gone into a diabetic coma.

She shared this story as one of the ways in which her faith has been restored. For a long time she struggled, wondering where God was in her life, especially when she and her daughter, who has cerebal palsy, were homeless. Now she is growing stronger in faith, even in the midst of daily struggles. God is good!
