I have a question for the community about First Night Services.

Has anyone host or participated in a first night program in the past? FIrst night is held on New Years Eve. You have an event of fun and fellowship in the evening followed by a pray service for the New Year from 11-12am.  I know in some place the people attending the program then volunteer to be designated drivers for local bars, events, and private parties to get people home safely. I think this is a wonderful community outreach. I'm just wondering about the legistics of planning such an event. We have a year to get it together. If anyone has any thoughts or experience with such an event we would love to hear from you.
