St. Paul's UMC, Lenexa, KS, held "Servant Sunday" on February 26. 336 Children, youth, and adults participated in short worship services at 8:15, 9:30, or 11:00am and then participated in the following activities:
3 volunteers cleaned the Interfaith Hospitality Network house
5 Giving Grove tree were pruned
27 fleece pet blankets were assembled
32 comfort items (blankets, newbon hats) were knitted/crocheted
48 feet of Giving Grove blackberry bushes pruned
70 health kits were packed
80 pounds of pet treats were made
86 supportive letters/notes were written for military personnel and Meals on Wheels recipients
120 cheery bags and cards were decorated
140 pet toys were made
20,756 meals were packaged for Rise Against Hunger
21,00 lives were touchd by the love and care of the congregation
Many pints of blood were donated by adults
This event was so successful that St. Paul's plans to do this again!
