Cook's Night Off!

Two weeks ago on Sept. 12th the folks at Hunter UMC decided to feed the entire community and surrounding area of Hunter. To get the word out, they distributed "flyers" door to door the previous week. Pulled pork BBQ with all the trimmings was the fare, and all takers were served in the church or takeout from 5:00-7:00. This allowed all the Moms and other cooks to take the night off while providing a delicious meal to their famliies. This was something they came up with on their own, and plan on doing once per quarter. It just seemed right since we are called as "Followers of Christ" to serve others! Good food and Fellowship made it a night to remember as over 60 people were served. We are looking at soup and cornbread when winter arrives.
