mission to India

A few weeks ago our congregation had a special offering for a man going to India on a two week mission trip.   We gave him $704.25 to use as he needed.   He said he will keep the money seperate from other money and use it as he sees God needing it to be used in India when he gets there.   He brought the change back this week.   It was only a few pennies in U.S. currency.  Due to monsoons coming early to India, Loren (the missionary) was unable to build the school like planned.  However, there was land intended to be used to build a church so he built a church!  While working on this, he met many people who had nothing to properly (by our standards) prepare and store food items.  With the help of a few locals working with him, Loren used the $704.25 from ReNew to purchase sleeping mats, kettles and food storage items for about 25 families.   We got to see a few photos this week.   They joy and tears in the eyes of the recipients was beyond amazing.   He told these people about our little church in Kenmare, North Dakota.   They are grateful.  Loren will be going back to India in February.   Because of the work our church did, he has had others offer and has over $1000 to take on his next mission trip.   Loren was very moved by the love of ReNew.   

By the way, we had over 700 pounds of school supplies for Loren too.   He was only able to ship about 500 pounds this trip.   He will take the rest on his next trip.
