Upcycling plastic bags

We're pleased to report a new ministry! A new group is meeting on Wednesday mornings to crochet used plastic bags into mats and carry-all bags for Wichita's homeless. Each mat they make keeps 500-700 plastic bags out of the city trash, and the resulting product is strong, weatherproof, and totally washable. Our congregation has embraced this ministry full on and we're shortly going to need a bigger collection bin!
