Giving Back

Bosqueville United Methodist Church, Waco, TX held a church wide yard sale on Friday and Saturday, June 7& 8th. It was a two-fold opportunity; 1) to bring the members together and draw them closer as a congregation and 2) a chance to draw people from the community to our church and as they came to shop for bargains  the yard sale items, iinteract with them and let them know us.  One incident stands out for several of us who were working the sale. One woman came to shop, bought several items and then came over to where the baked goods were where she purchased 2 or 3 items there.  As a couple of us walked with her to her car and helped her load her purchases she said, "Several years ago I was down on my luck and this church helped me. Now I am able to help you by supporting your yard sale." We were blessed by her as she shared with us her story.
