Wesley UMC Ocean Springs, MS Record Breaking VBS

Wesley UMC 2018 VBS "Adventures of Indiana Jones & Christians of the Lost Ark"!   What a week! The week started with a record breaking number of 156 kids in attendance along with a team of 45 volunteers from inside and outside our church.  Lessons about Moses, Gideon, David, and Solomon helped the Explorers (children) learn what it means to believe, trust, praise and seek God's wisdom in their daily adventrues in life.

A record breaking VBS offering of $2,718 was raised for UM Seashore Mission located in Biloxi, MS.  The group who brought in the most money had the chance to douse Indiana Jones and his sidekick in mud (chocolate pudding), dirt (chocolate cookie crumbs), and Indy's favorite, snakes! (gummy ones, of course)!! 

The week ended with pizza and snow cones served to a 'standing room only crowd' during Family Night.....and countless stories and comments from parents and kids about how much fun they had, how they felt God's presence, and how their faith had been renewed and reenergized during the week.  and  that is what it is all about!

Wesley is so blessed to be surrounded by a church family that has so many gifts and talents, but even better, are willing to share them!
