Bereavment Meals as local Mission

Patton UMC has adopted an unwritten policy of providing bereavment meals to families and friends of those being buried in the Patton Community Cemetary behinf the church. This place of eternal rest is not connected to the church, it is a local cemetary that happens to be next to the church. As more people are laid to rest in the cemetary the church has taken on the mission of providing a bereavement meal after the funeral. This is offered (and usually accepted) regardess of the faith of the deceased family. As the pastor at Patton UMC I am so appreciative that they have found their niche in an ever changing world.
