United Church of Garretts

Working at United Church the last year has been a wonderful experience.  There are two exciting things we would like to highlight in the life of our church. We started a Bible Study on Sunday mornings before worship.  We are a small congreation of 25-30 people.  Almost half of our congregation shows up to our study every Sunday morning!  God is deepening our faith and expanding our love for him.  We are being encouraged and challenged by the study (we are going through the book of Mark) as we wrestle with what it means to be a disicple of Jesus Christ.  

This fall, we started United Kids Ministry.  It's been so encouraging to see God at work in the hearts of our people.  We have 8 people that are a part of the United Kids Ministry Team.  That's almost 1/3 of the congreation! This was a BIG faith step for us. Prior to United Kids Ministry, we hardly had young families.  We've been having chidlren every week since we started United Kids Minsitry.  Church is becoming a place of belonging, acceptance, and love for our chidlren.  They are learning about God's story and how their story fits into God's larger stroy.  Our chruch is witnessing the work of God in this area as well!
