Back in our newly refurbished sanctuary.

We had an awesome worship service this week. We had at least 248 people at our service. This was our first Sunday back in our Sancturary after an extensive renovation which started last fall when we found there was asbestos in our ceiling. We had to have all of the asbestos removed. Since this was such a huge project and everything had to be taken out of the sanctuary and chapel we remodeled the sanctuary and chapel.

On August 6, we held a celebration and dedication of the newly remodeled space. We combined our first and second services and reworked our Sunday morning schedule. We held Sunday School at 8:30 a.m. That was followed by a breakfast that several of our members were involved in preparing. During breakfast we were entertained by beautiful harp music. At 10:30 a.m. we had a processional into the Sanctuary. During service our building team was recognized by Rev. Jennifer K. Whitt. We also had a baptism of one of our youngest members.

It was a beautiful service. It took a lot of planning and was worth every minute of the planning.
