A member of Thrall UMC's congregation lost her home in a fire a week ago and has no insurance. Thrall UMC has worked together with the city of Thrall and Austin Disaster Relief Network to help her recover. Thr congregation has raised $1595 so far in a relief fund the church set up for her in addition to another $1175 in a GoFund Me account. The church has paid for a motel room for her for the next two weeks. We have located a man with a backhoe who has volunteered his time to clear debris from the fire off her lot and remove it. Someone donated a house full of furniture to the Thrall Volunteer Fire Department for her.Thrall storage donated a storage bulding for the furniture.JB ser vices donated a trailer to get the furniture to storage. We hope to get the lot cleared next week and hope to get a mobile home or trailer for her to live in in a couple of weeks. A member fro St. John's Lutheran Church in Thrall donated pots and pans and other kitchen utensils for her. Members of the church have helped her fill out Section 8 Housing paperwork. Several church members and others in the community have donated visa and Walmart gift cards for her. We have also helped her get assistance from the Red Cross.
