New ministries within the church

Malta Ridge UMC has taken on a ministry of refurbishing bicycles for people who are not allowed to drive or cannot afford a car. A member of the church identified this need last summer while ministering to others and called on members of the church to collect bicycles. Members with the skill to repair bikes have joined up with him and are working to provide a method of transportation for others. 

I have been ministering to a group of people who because of health reason, are no longer able to drive a car. We meet bi-weekly for Bible study and monthly for Communion. Those who attend say they are blessed to have a place to gather and worship together because it was always an important piece of their life.

Another member of the church has been involved with Kairos ministries and travels each week downstate to minister to the prisoners who are incarcerated there.

Yes, in numbers we might appear small but the Holy Spirit continues to move the members of the church to find ways to reach out to the community. Actually, MRUMC has quite the reputation within the community for being a resource to help others, especially the local school district of Ballston Spa.
