We celebrated a profession of faith and baptism today!

About a year and a half ago, a youth began attending worship with his grandmother sporadically. Over that time we've begun to see him more frequently. He told his grandmother that he wanted to be baptized. As I was speaking with the young man, he expressed that he tries to stay with his grandma every weekend (he lives out of town) so he can go to church with her on Sunday. He had been feeling the call to become baptized because he wanted to make a new start in life in Christ's name and let the world know that he is a believer. He came forward this Sunday to profess his faith in Christ and be baptized! I have received many comments over the past few days from church members that were struck by the look of joy on the young man's face as he came up out of the water and faced the congregation! We purchased a new 6' water trough so he could be immersed and had him sign his name on the side with the date in sharpie. When worship was over we prayed that the trough may be filled with signatures one day!
