Maxwell United Methodist Church has a mighty prayer group who have been praying that a kidney would become available for member Gloria Arnett since 2011.
Their prayers were answered by almighty God on May 12, when California Pacific Medical Center called in the morning saying a kidney was available, but needed further testing for compatability. Keep your phone in your hand. We will call you back. Noon, further testing, but it looks promising. We'll call back. 1:00 Don't eat or drink after 2:00. We'll call back. 3:20 Can you be at CPMC by 7:30 tonight??? If not call the Organ Procurement Center in Denver as to yourl arrival time. We arrived at CPMC at 7:23. They performed "well recepient" tests on me and we went to surgery at 12 Midnight.. Transplant surgery went well and ended at 3:00 a.m. That is all the advanced warning we had. Boy do things go fast.
God's protective presence was felt in the form of a huge bubble that surrounded everyone that entered my room. The petitions of our prayer group alongl with those of the other churches in Maxwell and clear across the United States had my health well lifted to God.
Maxwell is a ClaYm Church and at present is being served by four Lay Servants: Avery Vilche, Anne Campbell, Martha Truax, and Sharrie Wilson since the passing of Pastor Lloyd Ash in March, 2017.
I am doing well and ask for your continued prayer for total recovery. --Gloria Arnett, Maxwell UMC Lay Leader
