Since I am new to the congregation, I have not always known who is a first time visitor and who are visiting children; but on February 2 we had the first visitor I am sure of to attend.  She has been living in the community for a little over a year.  Her neighbor invited her to church over the course of that year, but she was the primary care giver for her husband who was shut-in.  She chose to come and worship with us after he passed away.  The very next day was her husband's military memorial service.  A lay person from the congregation asked if I wanted to accompany her at the service, so we went together to represent the church in showing our care and concern for her.  She and her family were very appreciative at the time.  I sent her a card during the week to remind her that we were thinking of her and praying for her.  Then she chose to come back to church on February 9 as well.  We hope that she feels the love and support of the congregation and the pastor.  On February 10, she also attended the event we had planned called "For the Love of Women."  We will continue to pray for her and support her through the grieving process with our fellowship.
