Sweetheart service

We had an awesome service filled with praise music and a special recognition of our church sweethearts. The youth and the youth director were involved in planning the special recognition. 

Following the service we had a taco luncheon where we had a wonderful time in fellowship with our church family. The youth served the congregation and did the clean up afterwards. 

We invited a couple that were outside the church that we have been trying to reach out to. They had not attended the service, and we felt this was a good way to reach out to them and make them feel more welcome to our church. 

The church experienced the Holy Spirit working as we fed 35 families at the food bank. There were nine volunteers helping with this outreach. 

This past week some of our members joined with the Lindside Church to attend a meeting led by the Greenbrier District. This meeting was intitled Membership to Discipleship. The meeting is to focus on how our congregation can grow in the discipleship ministry. We hope to learn out to transition from a focus on Christian Education to focusing on discipleship. Too many times after someone has dedicated their life to God we don't help them grow in thier walk with Christ.  This should also help each of us grow in our Christian life.
