Back Pack Ministry

Bartlett UMC provides all the school supplies for our local elementary school, presented to the children on the first day of school, in their own backpack.  We have provided this ministry for the past 5 years.  Every year we stress about whether we will have the money and every year money comes in from so many sources in the surrounding communities.  This year we collected more money than we budgeted and so we were able to extend our ministry to another school in the area where one of congregants teaches.  Joyce White was in a store in the community one day last year when she saw a little girl with her backpack.  She asked the little girl how she liked it and the little one responded with, "Jesus gave me this backpack!"  So well said...
