Sister Churches United in Mission

Doe Run and Libertyville UMCs continue to work together to have an impact on the community. This summer, the congregations collected socks, underwear, and pajamas for the Foster Family Support Group. The FFSG provides children, who have been placed in emergency foster care, with a set of clothing by stocking Go Bags. Items that they are in constant need of are those the churches collected - socks, underwear, and pajamas - since those items are not usually obtainable through second-hand or discount clothing stores. 

For August alone, 92 sets of pajamas/nighties were collected for the FFSG. This was in addition to dozens of pairs of underwear and socks.

These are small churches, and many of the people are on fixed incomes. Their generosity is a blessing to behold.
