Birthday and community blessings

This week Bethany celebrated our 114th birthday! While our in-person celebration was limited due to COVID-19, we are glad that Facebook Live can provide us the means to reach those who are not able to join us at church. It is a joy to continue ministry at the corner of Harry and Main in Wichita, and to serve a community often overlooked. We pray God will continue to nurture and bless our congregation, friends, and neighbors as we move forward into year 115. 

We were also blessed this week by a huge donation of 2 industrial-sized bags full of almost-new clothes and supplies for children from one of Pastor's new community contacts. We were able to donate this all to United Methodist Open Door! 

This morning we were pleased to partner with the local health department to be a COVID-19 test site, which was hugely successful. Pastor Marsha had a brainstorm and handed out extra sacks of birthday candy from our Sunday celebration to all the kiddos waiting in line. God is good at Bethany UMC!
