Cresson/Waples UMC host Mission Trip Team

This summer both Cresson and Waples UMC were blessed with an opportunity to help in mission within the local community.  Both of these congregations include mostly mature attendees, and while the heavy physical labor of helping with clean up and construction in the community was not something they felt they could engage in, they were blessed with the ability to host youth who were ready and eager to put their hands and feet to work in the community, especially after mission trips in 2020 were cancelled due to COVID.  The desire of both Cresson and Waples UMC was not only to provide the hospitality, food and a welcoming place to stay, but to provide encouragement and mentoring to the next generation as they encountered God throughout the week in the work they did and the clients they served.  Worshiping together on the team’s final Sunday was the highlight of the week.  The hands and feet of Christ were at work in a mighty way through the youth who attended and in these two faith communities!
