salvation

During our sharing time Sunday morning (Sept. 7), I asked the congregation to be praying for my aunt, who is 84 years old and growing very feeble (slight dementia), and we also lifted her up during our corporate prayer time. After our Homecoming meal at Salem that day my wife, mother and two grandsons went to visit her. I had asked my mother recently if my aunt was assured of her salvation, and she said she had asked her and got this response, "I think so." That got me to praying and looking for an opportunity to speak with her about it. During our visit I was able to talk to her because she was in a period of lucidity, go over some Scripture verses pertaining to salvation, then asked her if she wanted to be sure she would go to heaven in case something happened. She said yes, and I led her in the Sinner's Prayer. We rejoice that she is assured — and that we are too!
