Epiphany Ministry Lighting Up Congregation

Mission outreach to the young men incarcerated at TJJD in Mart Tx is lighting up the congregation at FUMC Mart.

In years past the church has hosted the team for each Epiphany event heldat the local juevenile detention center. This year the glow is growing. How?

Our kitchen committee worked hard to upgrade the facilities so that groups like Epiphany would be better served. In previous years 3 members participated in the actual event; now it is 6. Add to that, 8 children studied lessons on helping others while preparing placemats for the young men's meals. 3 youth from the church helped prepare journals for their brothers behind bars. Many gave funds to help with meals and prayers were lifted up all weekend. The result: 12 young men gave their lives to Christ, 12 more rededicated their lives, and the church realized their part helped open hearts so they could be transformed by Christ.

My expectation is that when Epiphany 22 comes around, even more hearts and hands will be willing to serve.
