Community Thanksgiving Meal, Copper Basin Area

On Thanksgiving three churches from Holston Conference ( First UMC of Copperhill, Ducktown UMC and Croft Chapel UMC) along with Farner Presbyterian Church sponsored a Community Thanksgiving meal at First UMC of Copperhill. We had many volunteers helping prepare the meal, for two days prior to Thursday and on Thanksgiving day, from several churches in the area and several friends from a church in Murphy, North Carolina. We served 298 meals on Thanksgiving day.  Our week started out with a broken watermaine at church and we prayed for God's mercy on our meal.  By Monday evening the watermain was repaired and we were able to start our preparations.  God send us the neccessary help when we needed it.  He wanted this meal for his people and made it possible for us to have the needed water to prepare it.  We all had a blessed week and an even more blessed Thanksgiving.
