Community Picnic. Ongoing partnership with Fulton High School. Mission engagement with Volunteer Ministry Center

There were plenty of places to see the Holy Spirit at work at Central this week. First, we continue to push beyond our walls in mission engagement. Our ongoing partnership with Fulton High School led a group of 6 lay servants to prepare and serve lunch (on-site) to the team of 9th grade teachers and administration. What a way to express God's love and grace. In the midst of a hard Friday around campus, the lunch was well-received. It also continues to help shape our folks.

On the same day, we sent a team of 4 to the Volunteer Ministry Center to serve lunch as well. It is something we have done for several years.

On Sunday, we held our first community picnic (in recent years the church has gone off-site for a church picnic). This year, we stayed home and opened up the picnic to all in the community. We had about 140-150- church folks as well as about 50 folks from the surrounding neighborhood. We ate, danced, and played together. It was a beautiful place where all God's peopel could gather aroudn the table.

To God be the glory!

What an expression of hospitality in different ways. And welcoming the community to your table of fellowship is a wonderful expression of Christ's love and generosity. How did you promote the picnic in your community? What kind of reactions did you hear?
