We have a new adult Sunday school class, and I want them to grow closer together as a group (about 15 of them). I asked them this past Sunday to host a speaker that is coming to our church March 6th from the Methodist Children's Home. They are going to raise money for MCH. But after they decided that they loved the idea, they also decided that they wanted to do missions all year around as a group. They are planning on supporting MCH, but also on going to serve meals at places across the coast, and are excited about planning church trips to work in areas that need homes repaired due to poverty or natural disaster. They are thinking big about discipleship and missions. I can tell they are realizing that the two go hand in hand. One commented on how he loved to study the Scriptures, but that it means so much more now that they are "doing something about it." Suddenly the class is excited about the endless possibilities to serve and grow and fellowship. The holy spirit sure can do a lot with a good group of willing hearts.
