Tenth Street Hosts Mission Team from the University of Wisconsin

Tenth Street UMC is blessed to be hosting this week a mission team from the University of Wisconsin Campus Life Ministries that is sponsored by the Drops of Grace organization of First United Methodist church in Round Rock. the group, consisting of 5 college youth and their campus minister, is in Taylor for a week to continue repairs on the homes of victims of the Memorial Day floods that plagued Williamson County. They are staying in our fellowship hall in the evenings and using the showers at the high school field house. Sunday evening we hosted a fellowship meal for them. They were also in worship with us on Sunday morning. Getting acquainted with these fine young people and learning about the work they do has greatly increased the missional awareness of our congregation and given them a new appreciation for the work of UMCOR, Campus Ministries, and how our apportionment dollars are put to use. The mission team has built porches and wheel chair ramps, repaired fences and roofs in the Taylor and Thrall communities.
