SOUPER Bowl

Once again this year our church collected cans of soup and pasta for donation to the Good Shepherd Food Pantry during the three weeks leading up the footbal Super Bowl.  Our own Souper Bowl found us again in competition with McClouth United Methodist Church.  This year during the weeks we collected a total of 2,360 cans! This was an increase of more than 500 cans from our 2016 collection. In addition, many bags and boxes of non soup & pasta items were donated to help fight hunger in our area.  Our KIDS ROC group, supported by adult and youth volunteers provided a weekly pep rally to generate excitement and encourage the bringing of more soup. Additional volunteers counted the soup each week so we could see the total grow. On Sunday evening, February 5th, TUMC middle and high school youth volunteers transported the gathered soup and food items to Good Shepherd.
