This past Sunday was an incredible time of sharing a Thanksgiving meal and offering items such as blankets, tarps, sleeping bags, pillows, clothes, etc. to those in need at 11th and Peeples, near the Community Kitchen. This came about through relationship with the people on the streets and the community kitchen, as Mike Rice has been going down there since this summer taking food. He and others have been sharing food with folks and making connections through listening to stories.
The big Thanksgiving offering was a way to "pay it forward" to others from all that we have, along with others in the community who donated. There was a ton of help in organizing, packing, loading, unloading, setting up, serving the meal, and giving out items. There were many conversations.
There were about 89 involved in this activity on Sunday.
The Holy Spirit was definitely stirring.
