The students of Studio 345, Flora United Methodists’ weekly after school program for grades 3,4,&5, have received an invitation to We Day in Chicago.  The tickets for this event cannot be purchased and the groups chosen to receive them have completed various mission projects throughout the year. Studio 345 was selected to attend for it's Me to We programming.  This program allows the students in 3rd, 4th and 5th grade to see how they can impact their local community for Jesus and to show the love of Christ to all with a mission base.  Their local mission projects have been pillows for our Open Arms Shelter in Kokomo(for Women and Children displaced by addiction and/or domestic violence), pillowcases for veterans at our local veteran's home, a huge stuffed animal drive (over 170 animals) for our first responders to use in crisis situations, survival kits of candy for all police officers within our county, a canned food drive for our local food pantry and a hat and mitten tree for the elementary school children that may not be warm over the winter months. Their global project was a coin drive for clean water (the kids raised just under $100 in pennies, nickels, and dimes).  There will be 17 students in attendance and 4 adult chaperones.  The students have been issued t-shirts and wristbands that will allow them to interact with even more mission-minded material at the event.  The day begins at 9am and will go until 2:15pm and it will be filled with special guest speakers, all speaking on living more "we" and being empowered and lifted up for the next year of mission work. This whole day is just going to be a day of blessing to the students that have worked so much during this past school year.
