Participation in Washington County Christmas parade

Canton UMC, Canton, Indiana participated in Saturday evening, Nov 29, with a float in the Washington County Christmas parade held in Salem, Indiana.  Our float had a giant inflatable birthday cake as well as cupcake.  We sang "Happy Birthday to Jesus" as we traveled the route along with blowing party horns.  As usual, candy was tossed from the float for the crowd. The group consisted of 5 adults, 14 children/youth ranging in ages from 3 - 13.  Two older youth, ages 16 & 17 assisted with decorating the float.  After the parade everyone was invited to church for soup and sandwiches.  There were probably about 30 people who attended the dinner. 

A neighbor of the church happened to be outside when one of the older youth was going in for the soup and sandwich dinner.  They invited him in to eat with us.  He later told us he had never been in our church before but would like to plan on attending soon.
