Once every three years the Osceola UMC is responsible for the operation of a fast food restaurant at the Polk County Fair. In addition to generating a profit for the church, we have the opportunity to serve, not only tasty food from 7 am until 9 p.m. for five days, but a big dose of United Methodist hospitality. The outdoor facilitiy makes us subject to all kinds of weather and this year it was heat. Two of the five days the heat index was 108 degrees. Those working over the grill were probably even hotter. We perservered and by God's grace, we did a great job. Our customers complimented us on the tasty food and the very quick service. We are grateful for all of those who ate at the lunch stand and to all of our church family who worked many hours.
