On Saturday, Aug 10 Hunter UMC celebrated it's annual Back-to-School Bash. We thank God for the opportunity to have served 160 families and gifted 110 backpacks (stuffed with school supplies) to local community youth. Not only was it an educational event, but a full 4-F soiree, (Faith, Family, Fun, & Food). It doesn't get any better than that. The church made new contacts with some of its surrounding families and rolled out the welcome mat by extending an open invitation to attend worship services at Hunter on any given Sunday.
The attractions for the day included a Bouncy House for the little ones, a book table for all ages, music, and basketball for those who dared, in the Bounce house. The food, prepared by our United Methodist Men included smoked hot dogs, hamburgers, cheese burgers, and popcorn prepared by our older youth. And of course, ice-cream. It was a glorious day. We thank God for the fellowship.
I will submit photos of the event to our District Office by text or email.
Prayfully,
Edna Hargraves, Pastor
