Children's Sermon and Children's church

7/27/2015 views(703)

Sunday was a "what-must-I-do-to-be-saved" focused service. Along the way, we shared a "Jesus knocking at the door-knob-less door" coloring page. We were planting the seed of "what do you see?" (Hint: Jesus outside the door, and Jesus knocking on the door) and "what do you not see?" (Hint:  Us, because we are on the inside, away from Jesus, and NO DOOR KNOB, indicating WE must open our heart's door to Jesus).  The adult leaders of Children's Church which followed this brief, during-morning-worship Children's Sermon, reinforced these sermon seeds and the lessons which flow from this seed-planting.

One happy Grand-mom reported on Facebook late Sunday following the service:  "My Leah, colored the biggest door knob on her sheet and said Jesus can always come in! So this sheet is now on my refrigerator. Loving when the children no only hear God word - but understand Gods love!"

Yes! Oh, Yes! O Holy Hallelujah!

(NOTE: I recognize this use of the scene from The Revelation 3:20 is criticized by some as not consistent with the context. Yet, I will offer this to Christ "on that day" and allow Him to judge our use of it to reach tender, young hearts (and some harder, older ones, too!)
