The addition of the nursery has incurred unexpected benefits to our church. A teenage girl sent me a message via our church Facebook page saying that she was interested in helping out with the nursery on Sunday mornings. This particular young woman stopped coming to church with her mother a couple years ago. By helping with the nursery, she'll not only be involved in the ministries of the church, but also attend the worship service again, since the children are expected to be up in the sanctuary until the end of the children's time every Sunday, and it is only after this that the nursery helpers bring them down to the nursery in the basement. There is another teenage girl who is also interested in helping with the nursery. This will mean that we will have at least two teenagers in church at the beginning of the worship service. We must find out of the box ways of getting young people back into the life and ministry of our church and our nursery seems to be one way of doing that.
