Drive-through Passion of Christ

Warsaw Celebration UMC - North Central - Indiana - North (IN)

We had our second annual Drive-through Passion of Christ re-enactment on Maundy Thursday.  We had four lives scenes, and over 60 people participating.  Our scenes included Jesus on a donkey with children and adults raising palms,  The last supper scene, a scene with Jesus carrying a cross, being whipped by a soldier and bystanders mocking and making fun of him, and the empty tomb.  An angel stopped the cars and said, "why are you looking for the living among the dead, He is risen!" and then the cars were directed to the empty tomb and communion.  We had over 250 people go through the re-enactment and most of those shared communion.  There was such a feeling of peace and joy, and many that were served were in tears.  It was a meaningful experience for those driving through and for those of us that participated.
