The Children's Sunday School class has adopted the Heifer Project for their mission this year. They will collect loose change from parishioners each Sunday under the guise of conducting an "assessment" for random items like how many pairs of shoes you have in your closet, or how many fishing poles you have, etc. It's all done in good fun, and the kids feel like they are accomplishing something important. They will also do bake sales, and car washes and other fund raisers throughout the year to advance their cause. The results of their fund raising are reported in the weekly bulletin, along with the theme of the following week's "assessment." We'll report later on how we're doing.
