I have found by keeping the mission statement of the church before the people and putting it in your sermons people are more apt to live by that statement.They take ownership and try to incorporate it into their daily language. The mission statement "Love God, Love one another and share the love of Christ with everyone. They are realizing they must forgive what has happened to them in the past and they realize that forgiveness and love is the key. What is God calling you to do and be in your community this is the question before the congregation now.

This is great news and information hence I recently spent a full hour presenting and facilitating an interactive discussion dissecting our Mission Statement (making it personal) at our newly instituted Monthly Leadership Development Training Session with committee chairpersons. I pray that you and the church embrace yours even more because the broader community need to see and hear about the love of Jesus Christ both in words as well as deeds from the church (people). Great stuff!
