Connecting with our neighborhood

On May 30th, we hosted our first free monthly dinner for the community around our church. Forty church members enjoyed great fellowship and visited with six guests who came from the community that first time.  It has grown each month.  This week we enjoyed our fourth monthly outreach dinner and the tide turned dramatically. We served more than 110 people and 60% were from outside the church.  Fellowship has been warm and spirit has been high.  We also started a partnership with Foodbank of the Rockies on June 5th.  Once a month they bring a mobile food pantry truck to our church and distribute food to families in the neighborhood.  The number of families being served grew from 70 to 170 in the past three months.  Volunteers have been richly blessed and relationships with our guests are forming. It has been great to have staff from our local elementary school come over to help with the food distribution.  We pray God will lead us into the future... step by step.
