Happenings during the week of Oct 28-Nov 4

South Roanoke UMC held it's first Trunk or Treat.  We had about 50 children to particicpate.  On Halloween serveral youth from various local UMC came together to do a Haunted House in our gym.  All proceeds go toward the Youth Service Fund.  This year about $800 was collected.  Sadly, we had a robbery and the first $500 was taken.

Our Weekday Preschool and our Youth group did the 9th annual Pumpkin Patch and we made around $8000.00

On Sunday, November 11th we are having a Veterans Day Celebration and our worship service will include a choir from a local middle school singing the national anthem as well as a special bulletin listing our church veterans and branch of service.  Our youth are having a punch and cookie reception in the veterans honor and will have pictures and memorbilia on display
