Service Sunday

In an effort to engage the congregation in service and mission, we began having the first Sunday of the month be "Service Sunday." We started by handing out a shopping list of the 5 greatest needs of a local NFP that also has a food bank. After that we made lunches for a local church, AfterHours Denver, that feeds the homeless every day. And, each month has had a new and different focus point for our service project. For January families were able to take a "shopping list" of needed items by children in our child care center. As members and constituents dropped off their shirts, pants, hats, scarves, boots, and more on Sunday, people were already asking, "What's our February service project?" While there is much for us to continue working on, one thing is for sure: we have lit a fire of passion for service and mission!
