Giving Thanks Offering toward Freedom from Debt

On November 18th of 2012, we received a Thanksgiving Offering for the purpose of paying off our debt and freeing us to dream new visions for the church.   The intial offering on that day was 1/3 of our debt balance.  By the end of the year, gifts exceeded the pay-off balance on a loan that was funded twelve years ago.  It was simple.  Send a letter to the church family, set the offering for a day that we schedule our monthly pot-luck meal, and cast a vision to give thanks for what has been and free the church to dream anew.    We were debt free by Dec. 31st.    The energy that is surging through the hearts of the congregation is exciting and life-giving.
