How we exceeded our goal for food donations

We held Souper Bowl Sundays through all four Sundays in February.  By having the greeters hand out red and blue squares of paper on the first Sunday of February, we created the Red Team and the Blue Team.  The congregation enjoyed the friendly competition of who could bring in the most soup.  As of yesterday we collected 210 cans of soup, with more to come.  This far exceeded any of our previous requests for specific food donations.  The soup is being taken to another local United Methodist Church that has a Food Pantry.
