UMW Presents Valentine Pageant

As an outreach ministry for the children of the community, the United Methodist Women of Wesley Chapel planned a Mr & Miss Valentine Pageant.Winners were selected based on fundraising and "charm and personality". The 15 children (mostly underpriviledged from single-parent homes) were coached on public speaking and etiquette by the ladies of Wesley each Saturday for six weeks leading up to the dress-up event. It was such a blessing to see the proud smiles of the family members and to see the children blossom into graceful flowers asking if they could compete in the pageant again next year. Local educators served as judges and college students presented musical talent during the program. It was a beautiful day enjoyed by all with a theme of "Love In Any Language".
