Kingdom Kids

Each Tuesday, we feed up to twenty-five plus children from the community of New Buffalo. These children are primarily unchurched and if asked say they attend our church; but none attend on Sundays. We provide a full course hot meal after a Bible Verse reading and prayer at 5:30 p.m. followed by a lesson. Next is a craft and concluded with a game. Several times throughout the school year a field trips of various kinds are provided.  Snacks are available for them to take when they leave. They often take for family members at home. What is unique is the adults providing supervision are from New Buffalo United Methodist, Hill United Methodist, Catholic Church and Lutheran Church. We have up to fifteen helpers weekly. The meals are provided by not just the volunteers, but churched and unchurched parents in the community. New Buffalo UMC has promoted this function for years which has provided a source of connection with God needed in this hurting community. Almost all the children are from broken homes and too many moms and dads are in prison.
