Three years ago, about half of our active leadership signed a covenant with God in the worship service to invite 2 persons to Christ every week for the rest of their lives. This was in response to the Annual Conference request for pastors to do that during the conference. Our membership has regularly told me of inviting people and looking for them to come.  The pastor explained that we were not in the business of attracting active members of other churches but were looking for non-churched and nominally churched people (those who had been inactive for a long time in any church).  Most of the transfers we have had have come from folks who were non active in any church and wanted to come get what our members have. So now, we are seeing families return to church bringing children. We are seeing children bringing parents, we are seeing lives being transformed. the Holy Spirit is moving among our members to reach out and make disciples. Our average attendance is growing and people are becoming more committed to Christ.
