Vacation Bible School

We are blessed to have an experienced, dedicated Director of Christian Education who is a teacher at the local elementary school in our small community.

Every summer she orchestrates (with plenty of help) a Vacation Bible School in outreach to our small community.  VBS becomes a leadership training experience for those who have attended Vacation Bible School since pre-K.  They look forward to becoming helpers when they reach 7th grade.  We have high school and even college students who come back each summer to help.  This year we had 75 VBS-r's and 23 youth helpers, with 12 adults.  That's more people than we have in our church!

Two weeks later the same adult volunteer is off with a group of 3 youth who grew up in VBS, attending a youth service week in Virginia.  The week after they return they are hosting a "Bag the Bug" tournament to raise funds for Imagine No Malaria.

Never underestimate the impact of one dedicated, hard-working volunteer on the lives of your community's children.
